SNOWDAY

We had snow yesterday that resulted in the closure of area schools. Yes, it was a SNOWFEST!
Cody just started not feeling well and so I was glad he would not miss any school. He spent about ten minutes outside and had a ball building a snowman and throwing snowballs at the fence. Mercedes thoroughly enjoyed her few minutes of fun outside as well.

It was beautiful outside this morning, with the pastel colors of blue and pink and the white snow blanketing the trees. However today, Cody was inside because he had a 103.6 temp and is still not well. The other two children shared their icks with him and this Mom is hoping the sharing STOPS ! Ü

Cody scooped up a huge bowl of snow and made his own snowy treat.

He also put some snow in a bowel for Mercedes who absolutely LOVED it!

Of course Maddie had her own thoughts on snow play.

Pres Gordon B Hinkley

We were saddened to hear of our prophets passing, at 7 pm this evening in Utah. President Gordon B Hinkley was without a doubt, a servant dedicated to the lord. He always had an amazing warmth and kindness and a wonderful sense of humor.
I especially have been touched over the past years, at how much he lovingly spoke of his wife and how much he missed her. I know she met him with joy.
His 97 years on this earth blessed and touched so many. Our family will be forever greatful to have been taught by this great prophet of God.

Weight loss wow

John has lost 35 pounds now and is looking so great! His BP and general health is wonderful...now I have to find time to work out because he makes us look like Jack Sprat and wife ! Ü

Another new family member

We have added another addition to the family this weekend. Thurday we were called down to CPS to pick up Bricen's sister,Mercedes. She is 20 mths old.

They look so much alike and both have some of the same expressions. She is full of energy and is not sure about her baby brother yet, however she loves playing with Cody. He has been really good with her. Going from two to three has been a big adjustment and more so because they are all intense little individuals. It will take some time getting them all on the same schedule, but we are glad the kids are together. I took Mercedes outside with Cody yesterday and she loved playing in the sand table. HAPPY 2008!


We have had so much happen in these first few weeks of January, that I am wondering if Christmas is around the corner again Ü

2007 came and left with a bang for us. So, John and I decided this year, that was going to change into a good thing. We are concentrating on positive thought, even in the face of the obvious let down and hoping that things start to look more hopeful again.

This year Cody will be baptised and we cannot believe how fast that day has come. Em and I both have one more year, until we hit the big digits of 20 and 40 and John is making some big changes; in his practice life and otherwise. We definitly know that it will be yet another year of growth in our lives....like it or not Ü

The most recent big change is with our Foster child. We received word that his 20 mth old sister will be placed with us this week. So, I am trying to get schedules down and figure out the technicalities of some troop moves here. Getting all three out by 7:30 am for Cody to go to school will be a bit more challenging then it has been, with those fully distracted already Ü
We are happy though that they will be together.

We have had Bricen now for four months ! He is so big and is blowing "raspberries' now and becoming more talkative. He loves Cody and just squeals and laughs at him ,when he sees his face. It is so cute.

I put him in the high chair for the first time this week because he was so big and he loved it. He could watch me cook and clean in the kitchen and at a level that was new to him. I snapped these pics as he was smiling and talking to me. One minute smiling and then I turned the next and he was fast asleep !
