ARE WE THERE YET?

We began at Thanksgiving with illness and the "love" has been shared, too abundantly I might add, over the past few months. ARE WE THERE YET???
I have had to move my sleeping quarters to the couch,to assume my Florence Nightingale duties. I certainly am excited about my return to my own bed.☺

ARE WE THERE YET?...when will it be "over"?
That question has past through all of our lives at one time or another.
We go through trials that are short lived when we are young,or new to a way of life, but so is our patience. And at the time, they are trying for us because it is new
to us.
The lord initially, gives us some immediate answers to prayers or pleas, but as we grow and learn, these periods of trial may extend themselves beyond the time WE think can endure them. They stretch our faith and patience and when the refining process is given a rest, we see that we have changed..that we CAN make it with HIS help.... That we DO have more faith and patience. Our desire to be less of the world and more like him, increases.
These past three years have been an extreme change for us, but I can honestly say that I am SO grateful for the insight and learning we have gained. We thought we had been stretched to our capacity in so many ways already, but learning is not a finite process. It has also been a humbling, but powerful experience to see where we needed to change some weaknesses as individuals and take on new things as a family.
Are we there yet? No. But I have learned more and more that it is not how FAR down the road you are, but the fact that you are traveling the right one. That I might still falter, but I know what I need to do, to get up and back on track. I have been so thankful for the scriptures and the answers they have held for me. The lord truly speaks to us individually through them,if we will just pick them up and read with a prayerful heart.
I know without a doubt, that times ahead are going to require an increase in our faith of Jesus Christ and strengthening our families spiritually, to weather some very heavy storms. I know I have been labeled preachy by some in the past. This is not my intent at all. It is the intense desire within me to share those things I KNOW to be true.
I have had some very heavy thoughts lately and lots of self introspection. Then, this past week, I read an email from my brother in law and a beautiful post from my daughter, both with many of the same thoughts I had been having. Coincidence? No. I believe that we all go through more similar challenges in life than we know and when prompted to share things, we should. We are all striving to be the best we can. It can be a wonderful support to others who may need some hope or the knowledge that they are not alone and it can bless us spiritually also. We can learn from others.
So,on we go and some day when asked ARE WE THERE YET? We can hopefully answer YES and know that another journey of learning is about to begin !

A quick HELLO

Yes...we ARE alive and have just moved from two years below in a basement
to a fixer up farmhouse rental. Huge change, lots of critters, lots of work and we are loving it. Not done unpacking, tossing and keeping up with the three busy kiddos. SO, the next blog post won't be for a bit. Just a quick not to say we love you all and keep in touch!
