CHRISTMAS DAY

Well...remember all the love etc that we said was shared by all Christmas Eve day???
Evidently, so was the stomach flu !
Later last night, Mosiah and Laurel were here and John began to get very sick through his stomach. He had cold sweats, was pale and was lying on the couch immovable. I was worried because he was my wrapping support crew and we had alot to do...this did not look good .

Our two former Foster children and their Mom were going to spend the night and be with us on Christmas. Then, right before we went to get them at the Mission home, she said they HAD to be back before 9 am because a TV crew was coming to do a story and all had to be there. We decided we would pick them up after all was done about 11 am Christmas morning. She did not have paper to wrap gifts the kids had received, so I picked the bag up and brought it home to wrap for her, not knowing what a LONG night lie ahead.

Emily stayed up and helped me,until at 2:30 am I could go now more. Right at that moment, I had a wave of nausea hit. I knew I was in trouble because I had not had this kind of "fun" since I was a young girl in Okinawa. To make a long story short...John and I were up the whole night, throwing up and "etc". Cody began transporitng himself between our room and Emily's at 3 am and literally every 15-30 minutes, asking if it was time to open presents.
All I could do was vomitÜ

Finally, for Cody, at 7 am, we pulled ourselves out of bed and went to the tree.

The kids began with their gifts, while John and I attempted to be somewhat alert and video what we could. I could not take pictures, so Em had the camera. This came in especially useful for her. She was able to get a Glamour Shot of her parents on Christmas morning and also caught her Dad hanging over the bucket, while the video tape he had in his right hand was pointed at himself unknowingly!!! I reminded everyone that even though we were upset we were sick, it was still a wonderful Christmas and if nothing else, yet another family event not soon to be forgotten!

I did literally pray for enough health to be able to function when everyone was here and the lord did bless me with that right before we picked everyone up. The kids came and had a fun time opening their gifts and stockings and Amy said it was the best Christmas she had ever had.

Christmas 2oo7...

It was wonderful to have our children bask in the true meaning of this holiday. Even if we have little money, or things, we can ALWAYS give of ourselves and that is the most precious gift of all. We saw lives change this year and hope to be a part of that in many other ways.

Christmas Eve day with Family

Christmas Eve day was full of fun for all. We all met at John's parents house for an afternoon of sharing, giggles, and a general chaotic family funfest!

The cousins found what materials they could and put on a little Nativity play for all of us. Cody was Joseph,Rachelle was Mary and our little foster son, Bricen, was baby Jesus. The other cousins were , shepherds, wiseman, an angel and even the donkey that carried Mary. We really enjoyed watching them.

THEN, we had a visit from the big guy himself. Uncle John usually is gone for this every year, but this year he was here and Uncle Ralph was gone. While he was out,SANTA came!

Each child got a special gold $1 from him, as Santa told each child specifically something he was proud of them for this year. Even the two BIG kids, Emily and Nia sat on his lap...and the BIGGEST was JOHN! He had all of us giggling at him.

Later that day, Emily,Mosiah,Laurel,Cami and Lamoni all got together to play a Band video game. Each person had an instrument and Laurel had to do the vocals. It was fun watching them.
Maybe we could start our own family band...

Santa Pays a Visit

Santa paid us an early visit tonight. Apparently, Bricen talked to an elf about getting a picture with Santa. He wanted it for his parents as a Christmas present! Santa was kind enough to oblige. Cody joined in the fun also and each little boy showed Santa they could sport "the hat" too!
